Bay Area Monthly Gatherings

for Highly Sensitive Therapists

Community Support and Gentle Yoga for those therapists who are more intuitive, empathetic, and perceptive but may be struggling with overwhelm, anxiety, perfectionism or exhaustion. 

Each gathering is an opportunity to connect inward, replenish and receive support through:

  • Gentle Yoga (all levels welcome)

  • Self-Reflection + Journaling

  • Community Discussion

High Sensitivity is a trait found in 15-20% of the population, characterized by deep thinking/processing, emotional responsiveness, heightened empathy and awareness of subtleties.  Up to 50% of clients are Highly Sensitive, along with many therapists.

 

October 2019 Theme: Bolstering Joy

This month we’ll be exploring the importance of intentionally doing more of what fills us with joy to counteract the depletion inherent in our work as Sensitive Therapists. Through yoga, mindful movement, journaling and discussion we’ll identify the steps we can take to nourish ourselves and align our actions with our values.

More Details:

  • Dress comfortably. We recommend wearing loose, cozy layers.

  • Bring a water bottle and a journal or notebook.

  • Yoga mats and all props will be provided, but you are also welcome to bring your own or anything you need to feel comfortable.  

  • Do not eat or drink too much 30 minutes before arriving, but feel free to bring your own snacks to enjoy after yoga.

This gathering is organized by Shanna Dew and April Snow, two Highly Sensitive Therapists practicing in the Bay Area.

Shanna is a yoga teacher who specializes in mindfulness-based practices. April is a Highly Sensitive Person specialist, supporting clients and therapists to create more sustainable lifestyles.
