Highly Sensitive Therapist Retreat

A Space for Sensitive Therapists to Connect, Learn and Grow

Highly Sensitive Therapists (HSTs) have many gifts to offer their clients such as being deeply empathetic, perceptive and present, but often struggle with:

  • Feeling Empty, Exhausted, and Overwhelmed Due to Lack of Downtime

  • Being More Impacted by their Clients’ Emotional Experiences

  • Comparing Self to Other Therapists and Feeling Shame About Not Being Able to Do More

  • Feeling a Sense of Self-Doubt or Isolation

  • Imbalance of Work and Self-Care Time

  • Finding Other Highly Sensitive Therapists to Connect With

Designed with the needs of the HST in mind, each retreat is an educational and restorative experience to learn more about yourself as a Sensitive Therapist, discover tools to support your clients and connect with a supportive community of therapists who understand what it’s like to live deeply while caring for others.

Do You Want to Feel More Calm, Supported and Restored?

Sensitive Therapist Retreat Feel Calm Restored

Join Us for the 2019 HST Retreat in Phoenicia, New York

September 29-October 2, 2019
at the Menla Retreat Center

Featuring HSP Expert Alane Freund, LMFT teaching
The Science and Self-Care of High Sensitivity

In this four-part workshop series, you’ll be able to more fully understand yourself as a Highly Sensitive Person, what self-care practices are essential and take away tools to use in your clinical work.

Alane Freund will outline the core characteristics, research and case examples of the trait of High Sensitivity.  Through self-reflection exercises and small group discussion, you’ll compile effective strategies for Highly Sensitive clients managing overarousal or overstimulation, assess for unique symptoms of anxiety and depression and explore differential diagnoses.

Lastly, you’ll discover the five essential goals for long-term self-care that will benefit every HSP and why self-care is so essential for us due to our differential susceptibility.

10 Continuing Education credits will be included
